A while ago I was given the amazing opportunity to work with Big Blue. I got to choose a few products from their online store and in return review how I found the whole process. One of the products I chose and love so much is the magical Popsockets.
What are Popsockets?
Popsockets, if you don’t know what on earth they are, are little plastic thingamajigs that sticks to the back of your phone. They can be expanded when needed by pulling them – or popping them – out, and then returned to their original state by pushing them – or popping them – back in.
The whole point of Popsockets? Well it’s an amazing way to keep a handle on your phone. Basically.
Here’s what the website says:
“An expanding grip. A convenient stand. A chance to show off your style, whenever you want, however you want.”
These gorgeous little thingsmajigs come in a number of stunning prints (I would have loved the moon printed one, but it was out of stock) that make Popsockets even cuter and more fashionable have attached to your phone.
Here are just a few of their prints that are trending on their South African website:
I have a rose gold iPhone so I chose the white marble print instead of black because I thought it was softer and would look better with my phone, and I was right.
How do you attach it to your phone?
The underside of each Popsockets has something called a PopTek no-residue, reusable adhesive pad – wow, quite a mouthful, but it’s important.
This adhesive pad allows you to place your Popsockets where you want to, as well as if it gets dirty, you can reactivate it. Yup, you read that right!
How? You’re probably asking. Well, all you have to do is wash the adhesive pad with soap and water and then air-dry it completely before reattaching it to your selective case.
How I used my Popsocket(s)
When my Big Blue package arrived at my door, the Popsocket(s) was the item I could not wait to get my hands. By that I mean I quite literally ripped into the packaging to get it on my phone ASAP.
I stripped off the plastic film covering the sticky applicator and plopped it on.
I chose to put it in the middle of my phone because primarily I knew I would use it to take selfies, so I assumed the middle would ensure the weight would be balanced when holding my phone while taking selfies – I was right, again.
Taking selfies has never been so easy, guys, really. Whether it’s a makeup shot or a group shot with friends, Popsockets make the whole selfie-taking-process/game that much easier and, quite honestly, I don’t know what I did without it in the past.
Overall, I love it. I use it often, people always ask me what it is and where they can get their own, and it’s so easy to use. The only thing I wish they would bring to SA is the ‘create your own’ option that they have in the US, UK etc, only because I would get one with a photo of me and my wife printed on it!
Where you can buy one
If you choose to buy one from the Popsockets website, you’re in for a treat, as there are so freaking many prints to choose from! You can choose from their animals, summer, marble, galactic and mandala collections, as well as their premium, limited edition and trending collections, too.
Unfortunately, Big Blue does not have as big a range, stocking only a few of Popsockets’ cute designs. I chose the white marble Popsocket from Big Blue’s website, but originally wanted the moon. Unfortunately it was out of stock (I can only imagine how popular it is as it was the first one that caught my eye!).
Go on, buy yourself one. And then buy another 20 to give to your friends and family (and me) for every occasion you can think of and every device they own. Do it!
